The Junior Golf Association Tees Off with our 1st Junior Golf Competition at Jurong Country Club.

1. Today’s competition marks the start of our initiative to organise competitions for junior golfers in Singapore. Our main objective is to enable junior golfers with high handicaps and PCs to play with their peers regularly out on the course in a friendly competition setting.
2. The Junior Golf Association is a non-profit organisation comprising of parent volunteers who felt that there are limited opportunities for junior golfers to develop on-course experience. According to Reuben Teo, head of the association, “Junior golfers want to play with each other and have fun. Being parents of junior golfers ourselves, we know what our kids love and our competitions will hopefully meet these objectives.”
3. Our competitions will be held mainly on executive courses in Singapore, which will be fun to play, and not too difficult for all. As always, safe play is our utmost priority and an experienced parent volunteer will be on hand to marshal each flight.
4. Our plan for 2010 is to establish periodic rankings of our junior golfers competing in our competitions. Our next competition will be held on 7 February 2010 at JCC. For inquiries, please email us at juniorgolfassociation@yahoo.com.sg.
